Today, on Mother's Day, we put six composers and their mothers in the spotlight. During this special concert, music and text come together in an intimate narrative about solidarity, nostalgia and love. Using letters and excerpts from the lives of composers such as Brahms, Ravel, Mozart, Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Clara Schumann, a personal and recognizable story unfolds: about mothers as a source of inspiration, as a home base, as the silent force behind great artists. Familiar and beloved works, including Ravel's Ma mère l'oye and Mozart's Violin Sonata in e minor, are interwoven and interspersed with words, featuring Piano Duo Scholtes & Janssens, Kirila Kraal (vocals and narrator) and Maria Milstein (violin).
